Big Catch Contest
Viewers can submit their fish photos for a chance to be a television fishing star! Each week, one viewer photo from each of our two regions is featured on the show as the "Big Catch of the Week," giving that angler instant bragging rights with all his or her buddies. To enter your photo in the "Big Catch of the Week" contest, simply to login or create an account, fill out the form, attach your digital photo, and click "submit."
Today's Gear is the part of the show where viewers get to see all the equipment used on the show up close and personal. Each week, Barry helps anglers locate the specific lures, rods, reels, line, electronic gear, and accessories they'll need to catch fish on their upcoming outing. So whether it's an Alabama Rig, Carolina Rig, or Texas Rig, you'll see it here, along with tips on how to rig and use it.
There's a science to picking the right days and times to fish. Julie Dobbs gives anglers all the detailed data they need for a successful weekend fishing trip. Solunar tables, peak fishing times, moon data, sunrise/sunset, and weekend events are all included in this feature each week. She also passes along tidbits on kids fishing events and tournaments. Submit your fishing questions via TWITTER for a chance to have them answered by one of our pro anglers. We get the top guys off the pro tours like Kevin Van Dam and Mike Iaconnelli. We also get top crappie pros like "Mr. Crappie" Wally Marshall, and biologists from our state wildlife departments. This is your chance to get your answer straight from a real pro.
Texas Gulf Coast
The Texas Gulf Coast is a very big place and we have two reporters who can handle it. Greg Verm and Joey Farah tell our viewers what's happening each week in saltwater fishing. They are on the water every day and they stay in touch with all the charter captains to reveal where the real "sweet spots" are along the massive Texas bay system. Greg covers the upper coast and Joey covers the lower coast. Featured species include speckled trout, redfish, flounder, snapper, kingfish, and even tarpon.
"Cajun" Phil and Kevin Broussard have been fishing Louisiana waters a long, long time. Their experience and knowledge helps our Fox Sports Southwest viewers know where to fish. While they live on the coast where they love to catch reds and specks, they also know how to catch lots of bass and perch at Bistineau, Toledo Bend, and D'Arbonne. MS/AL/GA Saltwater Report
Our viewers in the southeast region on Fox Sports South get the latest saltwater fishing reports from the Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia coastlines from our Insider Reporter Bob McNally. Bob is an experiences saltwater angler, writer, and reporter, and gets all the good info from charter captains and locals in all three states and brings it to our viewers each week.
Crispin Powley covers the states of Tennessee and Kentucky and brings the latest reports on fishing conditions for largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, stripers, white bass, crappie, saugeye, catfish, and much more. Crispin is on the water often and is also connected with the best guides and fishing pros in these two states. His reports air on our southeast telecast on Fox Sports South.
The Carolinas Report
Englis Glover fishes constantly in North and South Carolina and each week brings the current fishing report to our Fox Sports South viewers. He covers both the saltwater scene inshore and offshore, and also the freshwater reports for all species in both states. It's a big job, but Englis is up to it.
